With the mission to empower students to be socially aware, Seri Mulia Sarjana International School carried out a short but meaningful Virtual Assembly for World Cancer Day and Sri Lanka Independence Day.
World Cancer Day and Sri Lanka Independence Day are both commemorated and observed annually on 4th February.
The programme started with the Brunei National Anthem followed by the School Pledge.
Led by selected students from Upper and Lower Primary, the Virtual Assembly highlighted the observance to one of the most significant global initiatives – World Cancer Day with this year’s theme, “Close the Care Gap”. World Cancer Day is an initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) which encourages individuals to work together under one voice, in facing one of the greatest challenges in history.
Later part, SMSIS commemorated the Sri Lanka Independence Day with an informative speech.
