In a forward-thinking move, SMSIS teachers participated in an insightful workshop titled “Innovate Teaching with AI” on June 7th, 2024. The session was led by Dr. Meisin Lee, a renowned AI Research Fellow at Monash University, who shared her expertise on the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence in education.

Dr. Lee, with over a decade of experience in Business IT and a passion for AI advancement, provided the educators with a comprehensive understanding of how AI can revolutionise teaching methodologies. Her work, which spans text-based commodity price forecasting, customised financial LLMs, RAG Chatbot applications, and audio-based intelligence tools, served as a testament to the diverse potential of AI across various sectors, including education.

The workshop explored the use of AI in personalising learning experiences, automating tasks, and providing real-time feedback to students. Dr. Lee emphasised the importance of adapting to the evolving educational landscape and equipping students with essential skills for the future.
